Interesting facts about needle felt flooring

Manufacture

Fibres are processed using a needling machine to produce needle felt. The resulting sheets are intertwined three-dimensionally and thus mechanically compacted into a felt. In order to turn the needle felt into a needle fleece, it is impregnated with synthetic latex and thus additionally consolidated.

Properties

A needle felt carpet or needle fleece floor covering fulfils all the requirements that an industrial carpet must meet. Thanks to its low floor height, it is particularly hard-wearing and can even withstand the castors of office chairs. It is dirt-repellent and correspondingly easy to clean. The textile carpet also provides excellent footfall sound insulation, is compatible with underfloor heating and is flame-retardant. Its dust-binding properties benefit allergy sufferers.

Relocation

Prepare the substrate carefully! It must not have any cracks and must be even, clean and dry (level out any unevenness with levelling compound if necessary). To glue down the carpet, please only use special adhesives that are expressly suitable for needle felt carpets! You can find this and other installation accessories in the Alpha-Tex online shop.
